The Hello, Goodbye Window

The Hello, Goodbye Window by Norton Juster and Chris Raschka is a really cute story about a little girl and her grandparents. When she goes to visit her grandparents, these is a special window that she looks for first. Although it doesn't look any different then the other windows in the house she knows it's different and it's right where she needs it. It's the kitchen window. She explains why it's so special and what comes past the window sometimes. I love this book because it reminds be of what I have with my grandparents. They has a special window at their house also that I could call my Hello, Goodbye Window with them. This is also a multicultural book for those of you who are still looking.

Bread and Jam for Frances

This book did not win any awards, but I would make my mom read it to me everyday before bed. It's about a little girl named Frances. She sings little songs about how she doesn't like eggs and why she loves jam. I loved this book and still read it to my little cousins. This is a book that many children can relate to. I would recommend this book for children between the ages of 3 and 7.
